Post-Covid-19 syndrome: cognitive and neurological aspects
Abstract
Post-COVID-19 Syndrome is a set of signs and symptoms that persist or appear after resolution of the acute phase of infection. COVID-19 can be divided into an acute (up to 3 weeks), post-acute (3 to 12 weeks) or chronic (> 12 weeks) phase. The prevalence of symptoms is variable and can reach more than 80% of patients. Several symptoms do not correlate with the severity of the acute phase and others correlate negatively. This work aims to review the literature on the cognitive and neurological aspects of this disease, as well as a brief review of clinical, epidemiological and pathophysiological correlation.
