This project aimed to understand how psychology, as a science and a profession, can present similarities between different areas of activity, for the understanding of structural characteristics that can demonstrate a sense of unity in professional practice. It was a documentary, bibliographic and qualitative research, which uses Content Analysis techniques. Based on this model, the work followed a methodology of critical interpretation of official documents (CREPOP Technical References and Resolutions for professional practice) and theoretical bases. For the analyses, the MAXQDA2020 was used, considering variables/markers and their meanings, together with the reading of documents on the attributions and professional practices of psychology. The analyzed References dealt with the work in Psychology in the following spaces: SUS’ Hospital Services; Human Mobility and Traffic; Primary Health Care; CAPS & Emergencies and Disasters. After constructing the analysis corpus and categorizing the main terms obtained, the most frequent results, in descending order, were: Treatment (70); Reception (53); Prevention/Promotion (45); Psychological Assessment (34); and Teamwork (27). After constructing concepts for each category, the treatment in psychology is highlighted, including covers actions like the recovery and reestablishment of mental health, aiming at improving the quality of life of the person assisted, in any environment in which the psychologist is inserted. By approaching Psychology in this way, the possibility of understanding transversal and common practices to different fields was opened, which allow us to glimpse a sense of unity to this science and profession, without disregarding the particularities of each professional practice.
